RCMP asks festival-goers to party responsibly this weekend

Head-on crash closes Manitoba Highway 83 near Pipestone

The RCMP is asking festival-goers in Bay du Vin to party responsibly over the New Brunswick day long weekend.

The Southeast District RCMP says people going to the Bay du Vin Summer Survival Festival should make sure to stay safe, especially when drinking alcohol.

Police say they will be patrolling the area, watching for people causing mischief and people under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

They also want to remind people that having alcohol while driving a boat is against the law.

"We want to encourage people who consume alcohol at these events, to do so responsibly," said RCMP Sgt. Pat Tardif of the Southeast District RCMP in a press release.

"Drinking and operating any motor vehicle can have devastating consequences so please plan ahead to be sure you and your loved ones get home safely."
