The Hay River RCMP are asking for the public's help to find 41-year-old Tyler Peterson. He was last in contact with friends and family on July 3, and has not been heard from since.

Peterson is described as five feet, seven inches tall and 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a camouflage T-shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes and a blue baseball hat.

Peterson's sister Karla said that Tyler's disappearance has been incredibly hard on the family.

"[This] has been the worst thing that has ever happened to our family. We feel quite helpless, and waiting for news has been agonizing," she said.

Peterson has two sons and two daughters, who Karla said are the greatest joys of his life. He is also an avid outdoorsman who loves fishing.

Peterson is described as 5’7” tall and 160 lbs with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a camouflage T-shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes and a blue baseball hat.

Karla said she and her family miss Tyler and are desperate to hear from anyone who can provide answers about where he might be.

"When you read about missing persons, you always feel terrible for the family, but you never really understand how devastating it truly is until somebody you love vanishes," she said.

"Please help us bring my brother home."

The family is also asking for Hay River residents to look in their yards and alleyways as well as any other real estate properties they own, including vehicles and buildings.

They are also asking people with security cameras on the north side of New Town to take a look at their footage from July 2 onwards.

The RCMP said they are continuing to follow up on every lead that they receive and have assigned extra resources to the case which also includes using a police dog.

The Hay River RCMP said they believe there are people in Hay River who know where Peterson is and are asking those people and anyone else with information to come forward. The RCMP can be reached directly at 874-1111 or through Crime Stoppers.
