RCMP Still Searching For Missing 72-Year-Old Woman

·2 min read

The Barrhead RCMP is still trying to locate Patricia Jane Livingston, 72 years old. Patricia was last seen in Barrhead on July 6. Her vehicle, a silver 2012 Dodge Caravan, was discovered stuck in the mud in a remote area, roughly 50 km north of Fort Assiniboine, on July 16.

Upon finding the vehicle, the RCMP began ground and air search efforts in the area to locate Patricia. In addition to the Barrhead RCMP, search efforts have been aided by the Edmonton West Police Dog Service, Edmonton General Investigative Section, RCMP Helicopter, Redwater Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit, Parkland RCMP, and Edmonton Forensic Identification Section. ATV, horseback, and drone searches have also been conducted, but all efforts have yet to be successful.

Ground and air searches were discontinued on July 22 until such time as more information becomes available or a tip indicates a new search area.

The Grizzly Gazette spoke to Corporal Lacey Blair, the RCMP media contact person for this case, on July 29 for an update on the situation. Even though the ground and air search efforts have concluded for the time being, the investigation is still ongoing and the RCMP is trying new avenues to generate further information. Cpl Blair has recently been in contact with the Barrhead Detachment Commander, but there are no new updates to report. The Major Crimes Unit has been consulted and is assisting with the investigation.

There have not been any indications of foul play.

Patricia is roughly 5 feet tall and 149 lbs, with white hair and blue eyes.

The RCMP is asking for public assistance. If you have seen Patricia or have information about her whereabouts, please contact the Barrhead RCMP at (780) 674-2696 or your local police service. Those who want to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
