RCMP find stranded seal near Highway 19 in Newtown, N.S.

Inverness District RCMP showed some love to a baby seal on Valentine’s Day when they helped him find a new home.

On Saturday, RCMP received a call about a seal waddling near Highway 19 in Newtown, N.S., RCMP responded by locating the seal and placing it in the back of their truck using a seal net.

The seal was then transported to the Port Hawkesbury wharf where it was “released from custody” in the Strait of Canso, says an RCMP news release.

RCMP say the baby seal showed his appreciation for their efforts by posing for a photo while in the back of the truck.
