Real Madrid have captain Sergio Ramos fit for today's El Clasico clash with Barcelona.

Ramos missed the start of Madrid’s Champions League campaign in midweek because of a knee injury and his absence was keenly felt as Los Blancos suffered a shock home defeat to a Covid-depleted Shakhtar Donetsk.

Zinedine Zidane took a gamble by resting the likes of Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Vinicius Jr for the game.

The latter came off the bench to score with virtually his first touch, and all three return to the starting lineup today.

Zidane remains without Eden Hazard, Dani Carvajal and Martin Odegaard because of longer-term injuries, while Mariano Diaz and Alvaro Odriozola are also not involved.

Victory would see Real open up a significant six point gap to their rivals at this early stage of the season, though the Catalan side do have a game in hand.
