Freshouse II, a food production company located in Salisbury, NC, has issued a voluntary recall of some of its products due to Listeria concerns. The products in question were distributed to Wegmans stores to be sold in the produce section or used in the stores' pre-packaged meals.

Freshouse II issued the recall after routine check-ups and cleanings of their facility found Listeria monocytogenes on one piece of equipment. Listeria can lead to high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. All of the products that touched this piece of equipment during production are part of the recall.

Among the potentially infected foods are Valencia oranges, lemons, limes, organic limes, and Red B potatoes. Again, these foods would be found in the produce section at Wegmans and also wherever Wegmans' pre-made meals are available in-store.

The pre-made meals would have been on shelves between August 5 and August 7 and included vegetable pizza, lemon garnish on chicken cutlet, Italian roasted salmon, and up to 18 other items that include fresh lemon juice or a lemon garnish.

A full list of the products in the recall can be found on the FDA's website with information about the food's brand name, UPC number, size, and other identifying factors. Anyone who has these products in their possession should dispose of them properly or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. There have been no reported illnesses linked to this recall at the time of publication, and anyone with questions can contact Freshouse II directly at 631-369-7150 or via email at customerservice@freshouse.com.
