Redstone Winery's summer concert series puts spotlight on Canadian talent

Love wine? Love live music? Then Redstone Winery in Beamsville is the place to be this summer.

The winery is hosting six outdoor concerts at the winery from June until September, consisting of two intimate shows on the patio and four larger shows on the lawn.

So far, the confirmed acts are acclaimed singer-songwriter Serena Ryder who will perform on June 23, Juno Award-winning Matt Mays on July 7 and Steely Dan cover band Pretzel Logic on Aug. 11.

The winery's director of sales and marketing Vicki Smyth promised that more Canadian legends will be confirmed soon.

All performers at the concert series are Canadian, and many are Ontario-based.

Tickets for the first three shows will go on sale at Redstonewines.ca during the week of May 2, with tickets for the other shows whose lineups have yet to be announced going on sale at a later date.

Concerts will take place on June 23, July 7, July 28, Aug. 11, Aug. 25 and Sept. 15.

Redstone started its concert series six years ago as a small, intimate gig on the winery’s patio.

However, when the pandemic struck, the winery decided to turn the stage around and have the audience on the lawn surrounded by the vineyard to allow physical distancing. It worked so well that now the winery is continuing the concert series as a mix of concerts on the lawn and patio.
