REGINA — Police in Regina say they have given a resident a $2,800 ticket after 15 people were found gathered inside a home.

A provincial public health order for COVID-19 prohibits residents from having guests in a home other than to provide services such as child care.

The Regina Police Service says it received a complaint Sunday afternoon about a large number of people gathered at the home.

Police say officers found 15 people inside.

A 48-year-old man was ticketed for failing to comply with the public health order.

The province's current slate of COVID-19 health rules are set to expire Friday.
