Registration opens Friday for Colour Me Rotary Run

Registration for the seventh annual Colour Me Rotary Run in Fort St. John begins on April 12th.

The Sunrise Rotary Club of Fort St. John has hosted the event since its inception in 2017.

There will be a five-kilometre walk and run, as well as a 10-kilometre run.

Participants will start their run at Northern Lights College, running up to 100th Street for the 5 kilometre run and turn around and head back to campus for the full 10 kilometres.

In between, there will be different stations around the course where members from local sponsorship groups will throw coloured chalk at runners, says event co-chair Kim Van.

"It's something fun we wanted to do," said Van. "It's a fun run. Our big sponsors will each have a coloured station."

Taking part this way means these sponsors can participate without running, said Van.

The event will take place on June 2nd at 10:30 a.m.

Those looking to register can head to zone4.ca starting at 7 a.m. on Friday.

All proceeds for the event will go toward the Fort St. John Palliative Care Society.
