Report: Fourth Titans player tests positive

A fourth Tennessee Titans player returned a positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday, NFL Network reported.

Three players -- defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, long snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson -- were placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday as the NFL shut down the team facility. The Minnesota Vikings, who hosted the Titans on Sunday, also were sent into work-from-home mode but haven't returned a positive test as of Wednesday morning, according to multiple reports.

The Titans also reported five positive tests among team personnel.

Because the CDC suggests symptoms of the novel coronavirus might not appear for four to five days, both teams are expected to remain on lockdown.

Daily testing of both teams and their staffs will continue, commissioner Roger Goodell said in an open letter Tuesday.

The status of each team's Week 4 game is to be determined. Tentatively, the Sunday games are on as planned with the Titans hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Vikings playing at the Houston Texans.

Contingency modeling includes options of playing additional Monday games and moving the games to Week 7 or Week 8. NFL Network reported the league wants to prioritize safety while also limiting the number of moving parts set in motion by schedule shifts.

The Titans and Vikings share a bye week -- Week 7 -- but their Week 4 opponents are off Week 8.
