Eganville – Bonnechere Valley Township is in a good financial position with the 2021 Financial Statements presented to council and the especially good news the reserves are growing.
“It was a pretty healthy year all around,” Erin Thompson of MacKillican and Associates, told council last Tuesday afternoon.
She noted the last couple of years have been tough because of COVID and getting materials, so there are some funds which were earmarked and not spent.
“The $500,000 in reserves, I’m really happy to see that,” Councillor Merv Buckwald said.
The reserves have been growing for the last two years, Ms. Thompson said. “In the future it sets you up for better planning,” she said.
Mayor Murphy said she was very pleased to see the reserves growing and the good financial picture for the township.
“It does show the fiscal responsibility across all departments,” she said.
She thanked all members of staff for their hard work. “They managed to do some projects we did not think would get done, but they did,” she said.
