A structure fire at a home in Sambro Head, N.S., closed down a portion of Ketch Harbour Road and Atlantic View Drive Saturday night, according to Halifax Regional Police.

A statement from the police force just before 7 p.m. Saturday evening said officers were diverting vehicle and pedestrian traffic away from the scene.

As of 8 p.m. Saturday, Ketch Harbour Road was closed between Atlantic View Drive and Old Sambro Road, and Atlantic View Drive was also closed.

The roads reopened later that night.

Halifax Regional Fire District Chief Lloyd Currie said there were about eight units at the fire on Atlantic View Drive at 6:30 p.m.

He said the fire mainly appeared to be confined in the attic space of the home. He said crews were working on opening up the attic space to get at the fire and would likely be at the scene for "quite a while."

Currie said there are no reported injuries.
