Two homes in northwest Calgary were destroyed by fire on Tuesday.
Fire crews were called to the 400 block of Evanston Drive around 9:30 a.m. They found heavy smoke and flames on the exterior of home, with the fire quickly spreading to neighbouring houses, according to the fire department.
By 11 a.m., firefighters said the flames were out and cleanup was underway.
One person and a dog escaped from the home that initially caught fire, and another person evacuated from a neighbouring property before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
There was no word on the cause of the blaze at this time, but an investigator was on scene.
The area around Evanston Drive was expected to be closed to traffic for hours.
