It’s been more than 40 years since Dr. Robert Atkins wrote Dr. Atkins’ Diet Revolution. But unlike many fad diets that have come and gone, the Atkins Diet remains on the of the most-searched even today. The diet aims to help you lose weight by severely cutting back on carbs,while upping your protein intake. The Atkins Diet is one of the most well-known low-carb diets and has proven to be successful – but there’s still controversy surrounding it – including that the long-term effects of the high quantity of animal fat and protein in the Atkins Diet aren’t fully known.
