It can be really helpful to know your neighbors, whether simply to keep an eye on each others' places when you're out of town or to be able to hang out with people who live within a few yards of you. But some neighbors definitely come with more perks than others, and right now, we're wishing we lived next to Martha Stewart since doing so apparently comes with cake.

Queen Martha recently posted an Instagram promoting her new cookbook Martha Stewart's Cake Perfection, and showing off one of the cakes she recently made for a segment on The TODAY Show. In the video, she can be seen taking a blowtorch to the meringue outside of a very impressive looking Lemon Curd Layer Cake, but it was apparently another cake from the segment that caught the eye of her famous neighbor, actor Richard Gere.

"By the way the phone call was from my neighbor @richardgereofficial," she wrote. "He is a neighbor and he wanted the chocolate caramel mile high cake- we took it over to him and his family after the show!"

The pair both live in the super chic neighborhood of Bedford, NY, along with a bevy of other famous people who live or have formerly lived there including Daniel Boulud, Bruce Willis, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake Lively. Lively even apparently visited Martha's home for Christmas with her kids, according to PEOPLE. This sounds like a much better situation than calling for a cup of sugar, I will say.
