Rihanna stops in Toronto for whirlwind 777 tour
Chart-topping pop star Rihanna is touching down in Toronto on Thursday for the second stop of her whirlwind 777 tour.
Rihanna arrived in Toronto early Thursday morning for her Canadian show, slated for the Danforth Music Hall. A relatively intimate space, it can accommodate up to approximately 1400 fans — much smaller than the arena shows the singer typically plays.
The Barbadian-born, U.S.-based performer announced the one-week international jaunt earlier this fall.
The fast-paced tour has the Grammy winner playing seven concerts in seven countries in seven days, with each venue announced the day of the gig. She is jetting between stops accompanied by dozens of journalists and contest winners.
Her fans in Mexico City were treated to the tour's first show at Plaza Condesa on Wednesday evening, with the singer performing past hits such as Umbrella, What's My Name and We Found Love as well as her newest track, Diamonds.

"We will transform this jumbo jet into a tour bus," the singer told media.
"We're practically living on this thing for a week: sleeping, partying, all together...it's going to be a wild ride. I wanted it to be a rock 'n' roll adventure, and I think when it's over it will be the coolest thing I've ever done."
The brief tour comes just ahead of the release of Rihanna's seventh studio album, Unapologetic, on Tuesday.
A longer concert tour in support of the new album — the Diamonds World Tour — is slated to begin in Buffalo, N.Y. on March 8.
