Rihanna Wants You to Remember to Wear Your Sunscreen, No Matter the Season

From Harper's BAZAAR

Rihanna is here to remind you to wear SPF.

The pop star-turned-business mogul shared a sexy Instagram selfie yesterday, showing off the latest trial-size version of her Fenty Skin Start'r Set, which includes the Total Cleans'r wash, Fat Water toner serum, and Hydra Vizor moisturizer with SPF 30. Posing in a peach-hued Savage x Fenty lace bra, RiRi also rocked a custom New York Yankees–logo bucket hat by designer Mark Sabino, lined lips, and three thick swatches of sunscreen on her face.

"Just protecting my melanin while they try to eradicate it! @fentyskin #FentySkinStartRs mini gang!" wrote Rihanna, subtly referencing the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement in America.

The singer's post promoting year-round sunscreen usage quickly sparked a debate with an Instagram commenter.

"It's winter now," wrote the social media user, alluding to their belief that sunscreen is needed only during the warmer months.

Rihanna quickly quipped back, however, defending her use of the protective skin product, even as we head into the cooler seasons.

"It's the ignorance for me!" said the pop star. "You gon have wrinkles if you think spf is seasonal! But continue."

The Fenty Skin founder has talked sunscreen before. Sharing why she felt the need to create her own SPF-centered product for her skincare launch, Rihanna revealed on an episode of BAZAAR.com's Go to Bed with Me that creating an SPF that works for women of all races and skin tones was a high priority for her.

"Another big thing about SPF moisturizers and sunscreen in general is that it usually leaves this white cast and a horrible, horrible smell," said Rihanna. "But I also wanted women of all skin tones and all colors to be able to use this moisturizer without that gray white cast left behind."
