Riley Keough has had all eyes on her following the sudden death of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away on January 12 at the age of 54. Friends and family shared touching tributes to Presley, the daughter of famed singer Elvis Presley, on social media, including Keough, who posted a sepia-toned photo of her childhood self and her mom with a single red heart for the caption. The comment section was filled with support from friends, family, and fans sharing their condolences for Keough's loss.
In a follow-up post, Keough got vulnerable and shared the last photo she took with her mother. The two are sitting in what looks to be a restaurant booth, and their resemblance is striking. This time her caption was more than just an emoji.
“I feel blessed to have a photo of the last time I saw my beautiful mama,” she wrote.
To say that Keough’s family is painfully familiar with grief would be an understatement. In 2020, Presley’s son Benjamin died by suicide.
At Lisa Marie’s memorial, Keough’s husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, delivered a tribute to Presley on behalf of his wife while she sat in the front row. During the speech, which Keough had written, it was revealed that the couple welcomed a baby girl privately. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity,” Keough wrote.
Lisa Marie Presley was laid to rest in Graceland beside her son Benjamin. She is survived by Riley, her 14-year-old twin daughters Harper and Finley Lockwood, and her mother, Priscilla Presley.
