Riverdale's Camila Mendes Says Her Boyfriend and Costar Charles Melton's 'Cami' Tattoo Is Fake

Charles Melton is making his love for girlfriend and Riverdale costar Camila Mendes known — with temporary ink!

On Valentine’s Day, Melton had fans losing it when he showed off a tattoo that read “Cami.”

The nickname, short for Camila, was placed on the left side of his chest.

After a number of fans expressed their excitement over Melton’s profession of love on Twitter, Mendes cleared the air. “The tat is fake lol thought it was obvious from the sticky patch around it but guess not,” Mendes tweeted.

The actress also wrote “it’s fake you guys…” over a photo of the tattoo on her Instagram Stories.

Real or fake, the gesture is still pretty sweet.

Mendes confirmed her romance with Melton back in October 2018 by sharing a photo of the two of them locked in an embrace as he kisses her forehead.

“Mine,” she captioned the post.

Mendes plays Veronica Lodge and Melton plays Riverdale High School football captain Reggie Mantle on the show.

The romantic post comes after Mendes and Melton have been spotted out several times together, including on a weekend getaway with fellow Riverdale costar Cole Sprouse earlier this summer.

And it seems the rest of the cast is supportive of the relationship. Lili Reinhart, who is also dating fellow costar Sprouse, 26, commented a flower emoji on Mendes’ post, while Vanessa Morgan wrote “OBSESSED!”

“YES IT IS!” added Madelaine Petsch.

Mendes’ onscreen boyfriend KJ Apa jokingly asked: “Are u guys dating?”

“I’m sorry you had to find out this way,” Mendes responded.

Mendes was last linked to Victor Houston, but the two called it quits in August after a few months of dating.
