The regular meeting of the Council of the Rural Municipality of Fish Creek #402 was held on Tuesday August 4, 2020 in the Council Chambers at 121 Main St. Wakaw, Sk. Present at the meeting were Reeve Brian Domotor, Councilors Lawrence Sosnowski, Hollie Remenda, Bob Kramchynski, Les Corbett, and Chris Dutchak. Maurice Werezak was absent. CAO Lois Gartner was also in attendance. Reeve Domotor called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
The minutes of the July 7th meeting were read, and Cllr. Remenda moved for their approval as read. Crd.
The Statement of Financial Activities for the month of July were presented and Cllr. Dutchak moved their approval as read. Crd.
Correspondence from Lynne Wawryk-Epp and another dealing with Lakeview Pioneer Lodge AGM and Audit were received by council and Cllr. Sosnowski moved that they be filed. Crd.
Cllr. Corbet moved that council support the naming of a lake located adjacent to Portion of NE 19-42-27-W(2) on behalf of Lynne Wawryk-Epp for her sister “Emadene” and CAO Gartner draft a letter of support. Crd.
Cllr. Kramchynski moved that accounts payable totaling $151,978.22 as presented be approved for payment. Crd. These are attached to the official minutes.
Cllr. Remenda moved that council authorize the purchase of a Cat 140 Joystick All Wheel Drive Motor Grader from Finning Canada, as well as a used Capital 1 MFG RH 3-Function Postless Snow Wing (installed) and Brigade back-up camera for a total cost of $341,520.00 plus applicable taxes with the financing particulars to be determined at the next council meeting scheduled for September 1st. Crd.
At 2:15 p.m. Cllrs. Remenda and Sosnowski left the Chambers declaring a Conflict of Interest when discussion turned to Mike Morris’s response on an incident report as both were involved in the incident. Both returned to Chambers after the discussion concluded.
Cllr. Remenda moved the council acknowledge the Risk/Control Fraud Assessment report brought forward by CAO Lois Gartner which will be attached to the official minutes. Crd.
Cllr Remenda moved that remuneration for the 2020 Municipal Election set for November 9, 2020 be: Deputy Returning Officer $27.00 per hour and Poll Clerk $22.00 per hour. Crd.
Cllr. Dutchak moved for the adjournment of the meeting at 3:30 p.m. Crd.
