RM of Lajord takes up cancer research fundraiser

·1 min read

The RM of Lajord and the Rural Municipal Administrators Association of Saskatchewan are collecting aluminum drink can tabs in support of childhood cancer research.

While the province’s rural municipal administrators have organized food drives for food banks in the past, COVID-19 protocols have made it more difficult to gather the collected food in one place. Donated food had been brought to the annual convention previously, and this year’s iteration is, like many other conventions and annual meetings at the present time, being organized largely online.

Lajord administrator Lynette Herauf asked RM council if the municipal office could be used as a local drop-off point for the tabs, and they agreed.

Donated tabs can be dropped off at the municipal office in Lajord during regular office hours, and individuals seeking more information can email the office at rm128@sasktel.net.
