RNC charge impaired drivers in C.B.S., St. John's

Warrant out for driver's arrest after hit and run in St. John's

Royal Newfoundland Constabulary on the northeast Avalon responded to two cases of impaired driving overnight Friday.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers in Conception Bay South noticed someone driving an all-terrain vehicle erratically on a roadway in Upper Gullies.

A 37-year-old man operating the ATV was charged with impaired driving. He was released to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, at 1:30 a.m., a motorist called police and reported seeing a vehicle swerving erratically in the Ruby Line area of St. John's.

Police stopped the vehicle and the 32-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving.

He was later released, pending a future court appearance.
