Rob Ford predicts Raptors will tie up series with Nets

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, seen speaking with reporters earlier in the day, predicts that the Raptors will tie up their playoff series with the Nets on Tuesday night.

Mayor Rob Ford will be among the fans cheering on the Toronto Raptors tonight, as the team tries to even the score in their playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets.

Tonight’s game at the Air Canada Centre is the second of the first-round series.

The Raptors lost the first game of the series on the weekend, by a score of 94 to 87.

But from what Ford tells his Brooklyn counterpart, he believes the Raptors are due for a win on Tuesday night.

Ford sent a letter to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams today, agreeing to a friendly playoff wager that will see the mayor in the city whose team wins the series receive a CD of a favourite local artist.

"Best wishes to both teams, I will be there tonight to watch the Raptors tie up the series," Ford said in his letter.

Ford is a well-known sports fan — particularly of football, a sport he has both played and coached.

Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly tweeted a good-luck message to the Raptors ahead of Tuesday's game:
