Robotic Alex Ovechkin unfazed after taking puck to the face

Alex Ovechkin is obviously a goal-scoring machine, and he apparently has a face made of metal, too.

The Capitals captain didn’t find the scoresheet in the opening period of Game 1 in Vegas, but that mean Russian mug was on full display after he was struck in the head by a speeding, errant puck while standing on the bench.

Ovi’s reaction was fabulous after getting clocked, barely flinching and not for a second changing the scowl on his face, followed by a quick check of the teeth to ensure none escaped. If you look to the right of the screen, you’ll see NBC broadcaster Pierre McGuire shrivelling in terror as the puck flew his way before realizing Ovechkin (unintentionally) saved his life.

Even when he’s not scoring, The Great No. 8 is making a positive impact.
