Rope-Like Waterspout Spotted on South Carolina Lake
A rope-like waterspout was spotted swirling on Lake Moultrie in Bonneau, South Carolina, on Sunday, May 14.
Tracy Mason told Storyful she was leaving a restaurant after celebrating Mother’s Day and spotted the swirling spout.
“We got up and walked outside and it was just perfect timing,” she said.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front moved through the area on Sunday and interacted with a “sea breeze,” bringing “slow-moving showers and thunderstorms” along with “localized excessive rainfall.” Credit: Tracy Mason via Storyful
