Dog rescued from burning house in Winnipeg

A Rosemere Avenue house fire injured three people, including a firefighter, Saturday night, paramedics say.

Flames were seen shooting from the back of a two-storey semi-detached brick home near Lees Avenue and Main Street at around 8:15 p.m., firefighters say.

Crews put out the fire in about 30 minutes.

Paramedics treated a 37-year-old male firefighter who suffered a minor laceration at the scene.

A 65-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were also treated for inhaling smoke.

Six adults were displaced by the fire, and firefighters say the Salvation Army and Red Cross were called to assist.

The flames caused about $400,000 in damage to the building and another $100,000 to its contents.
