Rudy Gobert returns to gym less than 3 weeks after coronavirus diagnosis

Rudy Gobert has returned to working out, less than three weeks after his positive coronavirus test precipitated the shutdown of all major North American sports.

The Utah Jazz center posted photos and video on Instagram of himself in the gym on Tuesday, apparently training through boxing. Gobert’s caption: “Back at it.”

The Instagram post comes just 19 days — a span of time that has felt like an eternity for many sports fans — after Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus on March 12.

Since then, Gobert has apologized for carelessness on his part, donated half a million dollars to those affected by the virus, urged the public to not repeat his mistakes and temporarily lost his sense of smell.

Gobert and teammate Donovan Mitchell were cleared of the coronavirus last week.

Apparently, Gobert is now feeling good enough to start exercising again. The development is visible progress as the NBA’s first wave of coronavirus cases continues to be cleared of the disease.

How long a newly healthy Gobert will have to wait to return to NBA action is anyone’s guess, however.
