The Rush: Trump disses Super Bowl champ Eagles by cancelling White House visit

The Eagles were grounded today when President Trump canceled the Super Bowl champ’s official White House visit the night before it was set to take place. President Trump released a statement claiming he was uninviting the Eagles because of a difference of opinion regarding standing for the National Anthem, but in the months since the Super Bowl, many in the organization had publicly stated that they would not visit Trump’s White House.

Elsewhere in Washington D.C., the Capitals crushed the Golden Knights 6-2 in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.  Washington now leads Vegas 3-1 in the series, putting the Caps just one victory away from the franchise’s first Stanley Cup title.

The NFL lost a legend on Monday with the death of Dwight Clark at age 61. As a receiver for the 49ers, Clark made one of the most iconic catches in NFL history, en route to San Francisco’s first Super Bowl Championship.
