The Russian military launches more 3,000 guided aerial bombs at Ukrainian territory every month, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a press briefing on May 27.

"The main problem today is that Russia uses over 3,000 guided aerial bombs every month, directly against civilians," said Zelenskyy.

He added that next month could see 3,500 bombs, and in May alone, there have been 3,200.

The president reiterated Ukraine’s urgent need for enhanced air defense systems. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine requires at least seven additional Patriot SAM batteries, with two specifically for Kharkiv’s defense. This would prevent Russian aircraft from flying close enough to bombard Ukraine’s second-largest city.
