French citizen Laurent Vinatier appears in Moscow court

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Russian court ruled on Wednesday to extend the pre-trial detention of French citizen Laurent Vinatier until Sept. 5, a Reuters witness reported.

Vinatier in June pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to register as a foreign agent while gathering information on the Russian military, and faces up to five years in prison.
