Sacramento police arrest man for attempted homicide while responding to domestic violence call

Sacramento police on Friday night arrested a man on suspicion of attempted homicide of a woman.

Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Anthony Gamble said in a statement that the incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Response Road in the Point West neighborhood north of Cal Expo.

Police arrived to the residence for a report of a domestic violence and found the man, who allegedly was uncooperative with officers and had to be detained. Police searched the residence and found the woman, who was unresponsive.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition Saturday.

Gamble said that the suspect was arrested on domestic violence and attempted homicide-related charges.
