Saint John declares temporary parking ban for north, east and west

Cities hope mild weather will help offset last year's snow spending

The City of Saint John has declared an overnight parking ban Tuesday for the north, east and west areas of the city to allow for snow removal.

There is no on-street parking allowed anywhere in these areas between midnight Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to a statement from the city. Any vehicles left on the street will be towed at the owner's risk and expense.

"The City of Saint John apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your co-operation as we work to clear our city streets," the statement said.

To find out whether a temporary overnight parking ban has been declared, residents are asked to call the city's snow parking ban recorded information line after 4 p.m., at 658-4040, or to visit the city's website.
