Saint John Water shutoff ends, boil order continues until further notice

North Hatley, Que. boil water advisory lifted 12 years later

An emergency water shutoff in part of eastern Saint John has ended, but residents are still being asked to boil their water until further notice.

Once the water is turned back on, city officials say homes and businesses in the affected area will need to boil their water for at least two minutes.

Saint John Water officials were busy hand-delivering notices about an extended emergency water shutoff and boil order in the eastern part of the city on Thursday.

The affected civic addresses include: 219, 228, 234 and 250-535 Ellerdale St, and 39, and 54-74 Margaret St, along with all of Valley Street.

Saint John Water will notify affected customers when the boil order is lifted.
