Sales of Travis Kelce’s jersey have surged, but Taylor Swift already has a Chiefs jersey

Some Taylor Swift fans got a crash course on football on social media after seeing the superstar singer at Sunday’s Chiefs game.

Swift was at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium after being invited by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. And they left together after the game.

There was, to put it mildly, a great deal of attention focused on the pair.

Betway said Google searches for “Travis Kelce ex-girlfriends” jumped by 1,750% on Sunday, while searches for ‘Taylor Swift at Kansas City’ increased by more than 1,500%.

Call it the Taylor Swift Effect. And those Google searches are just part of the increased interest in Kelce.

ABC News’ Elizabeth Landers reported that Fanatics had seen a nearly 400% increase in the sales of Kelce’s jerseys on its website.

Joe Pompliano, a sports business reporter shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Kelce had more than 300,000 followers on his social media channels.

Betway said Sunday night into Monday morning the Chiefs had seen an increase of 29,000 followers on their social-media channels.

A No. 13 jersey?

New Chiefs fans who don’t want a No. 87 Kelce jersey also have the option to order one with a custom name and number.

Fanatics shared this on X earlier this month and it includes Swift’s favorite number.

Another option for a fan of the music star: go all-in on a special-order Chiefs jersey.

Former Mizzou quarterback Chase Daniel pointed out that Swift already owns (or owned) a Chiefs jersey. He gave it to her years ago.

Too bad that’s not No. 87, right? If so, she might have worn it to Arrowhead on Sunday.
