Sam Smith Encourages Fans to Dress Up for 'Unholyhalloween' Show in Australia: 'Get Unholy with Us'
On Oct. 31, Smith will take the stage for their tour stop in Melbourne, Australia
Sam Smith wants to get "Unholy" this Halloween.
On Thursday, the singer-songwriter shared a video on social media encouraging fans who have tickets to their show in Melbourne, Australia on Halloween to dress in their most unholy outfit.
“I’m so excited for Melbourne show because it’s Halloween and we’re gonna have an incredible time and if you want, and if you can, I would love it if you could dress up for Halloween,” Smith, 31, said in a video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter).
“I’d love to see costumes. I’d love you guys to get unholy with us on Halloween. It would be amazing," they said, referencing their hit collaboration with Kim Petras.

The "Lay Me Down" singer also encouraged fans to join in on the #Unholyhalloween TikTok challenge, where they lip sync to "Unholy" and show off their costumes.
In February, Smith and Petras won the Grammy for best pop duo/group performance, which made for Petras' first Grammy win ever. Smith had previously won four Grammys, all at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Petras made a heartfelt acceptance speech, thanking everyone for their support, especially the trans artists who came before her, opening the door for her to win this award as a trans woman.
Petras wrote that "words can't express" her love for Smith after learning of the song's nomination in November.
Smith, who's currently touring in support of their latest studio album Gloria, released a collaboration with Charli XCX titled "In the City" earlier this month.
The standalone single — produced by Charli, ILYA, Omer Fedi, her frequent collaborator A.G. Cook and boyfriend George Daniel of The 1975 — is a dazzling dance-pop song that’ll call to mind the most amazing nights spent out until dawn, and inspire listeners to get to the club ASAP in order to experience the next one.

The song arrived several days after Charli XCX stood up for Smith online after seeing hateful comments directed towards them on social media.
"Hi everyone. I’m about to release a song with Sam Smith, and the experience has been really interesting," she said in a TikTok. "Never in my life have I seen someone receive so many hateful comments online. It’s been really disheartening."
Although she did not specify what negativity she saw, she continued to express kind words toward the Gloria artist. "At the same time, I am so proud of Sam’s ability to withstand that because I know I certainly couldn’t withstand it," she added. "Sam, I love you, I love our song together, and I am in awe of your strength.”
