Sansom Park 2-year-old is safe, located after forcibly taken by grandmother, police say
Sansom Park police say a 2-year-old who was kidnapped by a non-custodial family member Thursday has been located and is safe, according to a spokesperson.
At around 5 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a call about a kidnapping off Arrow Lane involving Ava Green, 2, who had gone missing, according to a news release.
Authorities said Green was last seen wearing turquoise shorts with a floral shirt.
The child was forcibly taken by her grandmother, Lawanda Cain. Cain was last seen driving a black BMW X1 with the Texas license plate TYK8553. They may have also been with four other Black women, police said in the release.
They were possibly headed to an address on Galleria Drive in Dallas, according to police.
Anyone who saw the suspect vehicle or the child was asked to call 911.
