The actress shared a selection of books she’s read this summer to Instagram Stories
Sarah Michelle Gellar is embracing the bookworm lifestyle this summer.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum, 47, took to Instagram Stories on Aug. 6 to share some of the books she’s recently knocked off her to-be-read list.
“Forget brat summer … I’m having book summer,” the actress wrote in her first post, in reference to the Charli xcx-inspired internet trend. Her first selection was Lisa Unger’s thriller The New Couple in 5B.
Gellar also posted a photo of a stack of books including Every Time I Go on Vacation, Someone Dies by Catherine Mack, Love Letters to a Serial Killer by Tasha Coryell, Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll, Only If You’re Lucky by Stacy Willingham and Then She Vanishes by Claire Douglas.
Also in the bunch was the 2024 novel The Husbands by Holly Gramazio, a literary fiction novel about an unmarried woman who suddenly finds an abundance of husbands in her home.

“Collecting first-edition books started for me when I was on Buffy [the Vampire Slayer] once I first started, you know, earning pay checks where I could really spend it on something that was a passion, not just a necessity for myself,” she said. “A lot of our cast got new cars, and for me, it was like, books.”
