'The View's Ana Navarro On Univision Cozying Up To Donald Trump: "What The Hell Is Going On?"
During an appearance on The View, Paulson opened up about getting inspired by the Bravo reality star for her role as Antoinette “Toni” Lafayette.
“I work with a woman named Julia Crockett who helps me physically transform into some people. I’ve played a lot of real people and I need to approximate some physical communication to an audience — a visual image that reminds them of the person,” Paulson explained on the ABC talk show.
She continued, “So, I’ve been watching Chimp Empire on Netflix and I’ve been watching The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. There’s one character named — she’s not an actress, she’s a character on this show, she’s a person I guess — Meredith Marks and she has a particular intensity that I have decided to abscond with and tried to turn some of that energy into this person I’m playing.”
Appropriate revolves around the Lafayette family as they return to a decaying plantation mansion following their recently deceased father. Soon after uncovering a relic buried deep in the recesses of their family’s past, decades of resentment surface.
On returning to Broadway, Paulson says she feels “like a rusty old wagon,” because “there’s a different set of muscles you need to perform on stage.”
Appropriate begins previews on Wednesday, November 29 and officially opens on Monday, December 18, at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater.
