Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is getting a new direct flight to a major city

Frontier Airlines announced a new flight at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

The airline said in a news release that a direct flight from SRQ to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) will begin on Dec. 18.

The nonstop route will take place three times a week.

“We are delighted to expand our operations at SRQ this December, increasing the travel options available to consumers seeking to fly affordably between Florida’s Gulf Coast and the Midwest,” Frontier Airlines vice president of network and operations design Josh Flyr said in a news release.

Frontier is offering an introductory $69 rate for the new flight. To get the $69 price, seats must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 7 and for travel between Dec. 12 and Feb. 28 with the following blackout dates: Dec. 21-31, Jan. 1-7, Feb. 13-14, Feb. 16-17.

It’s the fourth Frontier route at SRQ.
