The case against a Saskatoon man accused of committing a string of robberies - and facing child porn charges - was bounced around courthouses as he continued to allegedly reoffend while released on bail, a couple of times.
Cody Kemick, 37, had an appearance scheduled in Swift Current Provincial Court on Jan. 27 and the matter was adjourned to March 31 for a show cause hearing and sentencing on three charges of breach of release conditions, break and enter to commit theft, and fleeing from the police.
He had an appearance scheduled in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Feb. 5 and the matter was adjourned to March 5 to enter an election. In Saskatoon he faces 10 counts of possession of stolen property, possession of child pornography, four counts of break and enter to commit theft, theft and mischief, and breach of probation and theft under $5,000.
Kemick was released on bail a couple of times. He was re-arrested by Swift Current police in December 2020 and has been in custody since.
Kemick was initially arrested May 2019 and charged with three counts of break and enter, 10 counts of possession of stolen property, one count of theft and one count of mischief.
He is accused of numerous robberies from businesses, residences and vehicles in Saskatoon, Unity, Lucky Lake, Dinsmore, Rosetown, Kerrobert, Aberdeen, Humboldt, Milden, and Conquest.
On May 2, 2020, Saskatoon Provincial RCMP GIS, along with police officers from Saskatoon, Outlook, Rosetown and Humboldt detachments, raided Kemick’s Saskatoon home. At the residence police seized about $35,000 worth of stolen property, including tools, computers, electronic devices, ammunition, cheques, hair salon products, lottery tickets and clothing.
At the residence police also arrested Chantal Dubois, 41, of Saskatoon. She was charged with one count of break and enter, and seven counts of possession of stolen property.
