Moose Jaw police use Taser to arrest 21-year-old man

Early Saturday morning Saskatoon police had to use a Taser to stop a man from hurting himself.

In an emailed press release, police reported they are were called to a domestic dispute on Grosvenor Cres. early Saturday at around 1:45 a.m. CST.

They said officers encountered a 19-year-old man on the street, threatening to harm himself. Police tried to talk him out of it, which resulted in the man becoming more assertive, verbally and physically, to hurt himself, according to the release.

That's when police said they decided to Taser the man, in order to prevent him form hurting himself.

No one else was injured.

As per policy, a Use of Force report will be submitted and reviewed by a review board with the Saskatoon police.

The Taser will also be seized and examined.
