SC animal control worker charged with sexual misconduct, conspiracy SLED says

A former Union County animal control employee is facing several charges after conspiring with a detention center inmate she had sex with, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

While working as an animal control worker at the Union County animal shelter, Vallerie Renea White, 32, began a relationship with an inmate. She was charged Tuesday with misconduct in office, criminal conspiracy and first degree sexual misconduct with an inmate, according to a SLED news release.

In March, White was discovered to have had sexual intercourse with the inmate during her shift at the animal shelter, located at 1647 Jonesville Highway in Union. She then conspired with the inmate by giving the inmate a cellphone so they could “further their relationship,” according to an arrest warrant.

White was booked into the Union County Detention Center.
