SC deputy stomped on inmate’s groin multiple times, jabbed him in the face, SLED says

A former Berkeley County detention center deputy is behind bars after stomping an inmate in the groin and punching him in the face, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says.

Aisha Zakiya Davis, 31, was charged Thursday with 2nd degree assault and battery and misconduct in office after she repeatedly stomped on an inmate’s private parts and punched him in the face while he was handcuffed, according to SLED.

Stomping on the inmate’s groin “several times” amounted to nonconsensual touching of the victim’s private area, an arrest warrant said.

Davis’ behavior also amounted to misconduct in office in that she acted “in breach of her duty in good faith and accountability of the public,” a warrant said.

Davis was booked into the Berkeley County detention center and released on a $10,000 bond, according to court records.
