SC man hit waiting next to his disabled vehicle along US 501. He later dies, coroner says

A woman who was shot outside of a South Carolina Bojangles fast food restaurant has died in the hospital, the Lexington County Coroner’s Office announced.

A Myrtle Beach man has died after being struck by a vehicle while standing outside his disabled car on U.S. 501 near Conway, South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

David Berry, 50, was hit about 1:41 a.m. and then taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard by email.

Berry was struck by an unknown vehicle while he was next to his 2015 Ford Sedan in an emergency lane, according to an email from Master Trooper William Bennett. The vehicle ran off the road and struck Berry’s vehicle, which then hit him. The other vehicle then left the scene, Bennett said.
