SC man lured teen girls into sex acts in exchange for vapes. There could be more victims
A South Carolina man was arrested after being accused of sexual activity with teenage girls in exchange for vaping devices, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Trevor Oty of Little Mountain and charged him with two counts of solicitation of a minor, one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and trafficking in persons, according to arrest warrants.
The case began when the mother of one of the victims reached out to the sheriff’s department over the summer with concerns that her daughter had been assaulted, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a news release. Detectives opened an investigation, including forensic interviews with the victims, and discovered Oty would arrange to meet girls and exchange sexual favors for vapes.
Two girls are associated with Oty’s charges.
“There could be more victims than these two young ladies,” Koon said in a news release. “This case is still open and our investigation is ongoing. We encourage anyone who’s had any contact with Oty that included so-called discounts for vaping devices, electronic cigarettes or any other items to give us a call as soon as possible.”
