All school buses cancelled in Ottawa area, some in west Quebec

Dangerously icy roads lead to crashes, school closures

Every school board in Ottawa and eastern Ontario has cancelled buses, as well as the English-language school board in western Quebec.

In detail, buses are cancelled for:

- The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

- The Ottawa Catholic School Board.

- The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.

- The Upper Canada District School Board.

- The Renfrew County District School Board.

- The Renfrew Country Catholic District School Board.

- Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.

- Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario.

- The Western Québec School Board.

Delays were also expected for Commision scolaire des Draveurs in western Quebec, but no cancellations as of 6:30 a.m.

In Ottawa, freezing rain began falling at about 5 p.m., then stopped for a short time and continued from about 8 to 11 p.m. Environment Canada says only 1.4 mm of ice accumulation fell before midnight.
