The fifth Scream movie was announced last November, almost a decade after the fourth entry in the horror series came and went without leaving the impact that everyone involved really wanted.

The newest entry is banking on a lot of nostalgia with the original cast returning for more (Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette will reprise their roles as Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Deputy Dewey Riley) and it sounds like fans of the early movies won't be disappointed.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, newcomer to the series Jenna Ortega says that the fifth film will "fit perfectly" with what's come before.

"It fits perfectly [in the franchise]. Also how incredible that we have the main cast coming back. That is insane to me," the You actress said.

"Throughout the years, the franchise has done really well at calling back and bringing some sort of nostalgic aspects to the script. I'll definitely say that there are some here."

She added that she's "very, very pleased with how the script has been written and [with] everything that's to come".

We may have to wait a while to find out more about how it fits in perfectly, and whether she means in terms of continuity or just tone, as the actress notes that everything surrounding the film is "super top secret" at the moment.

Ortega isn't the only star joining the cast for the upcoming instalment. 13 Reasons Why's Dylan Minnette and The Boys star Jack Quaid have also signed up.
