Screen company opens new plant in Windsor, plans to double workforce

A B.C.-based screen and shutter company has opened a new Windsor location and plans to double its number of local employees within a year.

Representatives from Talius officially cut the ribbon at their new Rhodes Drive location Thursday morning. The company produces retractable screens and currently employ 10 people with hopes to double that number within the year.

"Windsor is in a booming economic growth period and the launch of the new plan there allows for even more employment," said Brooke Watorek, who operates Talius Ontario with her husband Jason.

Mayor Drew Dilkens praised the company for its "confidence" in Windsor and welcomed them to the city.

"Talius selected Windsor due to our strategic location, our rich history in manufacturing and talented workforce," he added.
