Italian firefighters conducted an aerial search on October 12, several days after a two-year-old boy went missing in Catanzaro, amid severe flooding in the south of the country.
The boy was traveling with his mother and seven-year-old brother when their car was swept away by floodwaters on October 5 in the San Pietro Lametino area of Catanzaro. The bodies of his mother and brother were later recovered by emergency personnel.
Italy’s fire service, the Vigili del Fuoco, said it conducted more than 450 rescue operations due to flooding and landslides in Catanzaro.
