Family of Brandon Tucker urges public to keep eye out for missing man
The partner of a missing man in Gander is urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brandon Tucker to contact police immediately.
Brandon Tucker, 29, was last seen Friday morning, and a family member told CBC News his phone was last active that afternoon. Police and search and rescue crews have taken the search by foot and by air, with a drone. A police dog has also been scouring the Gander area.
Tucker's partner, Travis Gleason, said he has reason to believe Tucker is not in a "great frame of mind" and that there is concern for his mental wellbeing.
"We're devastated, we're terrified, we're heartbroken. We just want him home," said Gleason in an interview Monday afternoon.
The RCMP said Tucker was reported missing around 4 p.m. on Friday, and the police are asking residents to check their properties, sheds or exterior storage buildings.
Gleason said Tucker is a musician and gamer with a love of reading and comic books. He said his partner's disappearance is "completely out of character."
"Brandon is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle person that you will ever meet," Gleason said.
The family has received many tips but so far none have panned out.
Gleason said he and the family appreciate all the information they are receiving but is urging the public to contact the RCMP directly.
"We've had leads heading west, leads heading east," Gleason said.
"They're more qualified and more capable of dealing with this than we are, and it's just leaving us very emotionally drained."
Gleason said there was a tip he was picked up by an older white Chevrolet pickup truck near the forestry office in Lewisporte. Another tip said there was a similar truck in Grand Falls-Windsor but they couldn't see if Tucker was in the vehicle.
"I can't even begin to explain to you how I feel. I'm so scared. If you're out there somewhere, Brandon, just let us know you're OK. All we want to know is that you're OK. Nothing else matters."
Tucker was last seen wearing black jeans and sneakers, and a dark-coloured shirt.
